Shaeer’s Corporal Rotation corrects the most severe penile curvature with no or minimal loss in length.
Length-Preserving Correction of Penile Curvature by Rotation of the Corpora Cavernosa
What is Shaeer’s Corporal Rotation? Until year 2005, a curved penis could only be corrected by techniques that caused either shortening or erectile dysfunction. Therefore, results of Surgical correction of penile deviation where not satisfactory, particularly in cases were the bent penis is severe or when the penis is originally short.
In 2005, Professor Osama Shaeer published for the first time “Rotation of the Corpora Cavernosa / Corporal Rotation”. This is a surgical technique that can correct the most severe cases of congenital penile curvature, with no, or minimal shortening. This technique relies on a unique geometrical idea where rotation of the corpora cavernosa (erection cylinders) results in transferring the shorter curve to the inside of the penis, correcting the bent penis without shortening.
Shaeer’s Technique for correction of penile curvature has was first published in 2005, and has since been embraced by many textbooks and surgeons around the world.

Shaeer’s Corporal Rotation for correction of penile deviation is a one day surgery that takes approximately 45 minutes. a Gentleman with a severe penile curvature and leave the hospital in the same day with a fully straight penis and without any shortening in length.
Rotation of the corpora cavernos is suitable for moderate and severe cases of congenital penile curvature. Rotation of the corpora cavernosa is only suitable when penile curvature is downwards. Shaeer’s technique can be performed in mild cases of penile curvature. Nevertheless it is not necessary because the regular shortening techniques will suffice without too much loss in length.
After surgery for correction of penile curvature, It is advised to postpone sexual intercourse for at least 3 months. This is because of the mild to moderate pain and decrease in sensitivity that follow. Those will usually heal gradually over 3-6 months.
Shaeer’s Corporal Rotation is primarily for correction of congenital penile curvature. It has not been tested for cases of acquired penile curvature (peyronie’s disease) , where alternative techniques such as incision and grafting of Peyronie’s plaques or penile prosthesis implantation are more suited .
Where does Professor Osama Shaeer perform Corporal Rotation?
Professor Shaeer operates in his privately owned hospital in Cairo, Egypt. Full advice can be offered for travel arrangements. Furthermore, Prof.Shaeer operates in Europe, in Sarajevo, Bosnia.
How long does one need to stay in Cairo for corporal rotation surgery?
2-3 days max! Preliminary consultation and decision taking can be performed online. A gentleman can have surgery performed the next day to his arrival to Cairo or Sarajevo, and can fly back the day after.
Steps of correction of penile curvature by rotation of the corpora cavernosa
Time needed: 45 minutes
How is Corporal Rotation surgery for correction of penile curvature performed?
- Anesthesia
Both general or spinal anesthesia are suitable for correction of penile curvature by corporal rotation surgery
- Scrubbing / Sterilization
The area from the umbilicus to the knee is sterilized by alcohol-based media and draped
- Induction of erection
Prostaglandin E1 is injected into the corpora cavernosa to induce erection and identify the point of maximum penile deviation
- Skin incision
A subcoronal incision is performed beneath the corornal sulcus of the glans penis along the circumcision line.
- Degloving
The skin of the penis is brought down towards the base of the penis to expose the corpora cavernosa and the point of maximum curvture.
- Mobilization of the neurovascular bundle (NVB)
The NVB is the arteries, veins and nerves that course on the erection cylinders. They are identified, preserved and set aside so that correction of penile curvature by corporal rotation can be performed underneath them.
- Corporal Rotation for Correction of penile curvature
Non-absorbable sutures are used to approximate the upper (dorsal) surface of the two corpora cavernosa (erection cylinders), thereby achieving correction of penile curvature by corporal rotation surgery
- Redraping the NVB
The neurovascular bundle is returned to its original site, over the corpora cavernosa, following correction of penile curvature by corporal rotation surgery
- Double check
Artificial erection is re-induced to double check that the penis is straight
- Skin closure
Skin edges are sutured with absorbable stitches that dissolve spontaneously and do not require removal
Frequently asked questions as regards correction of penile curvature by rotation of the corpora cavernosa
Use the self-test / penile curvature wizard on our website, or send a picture in the erect state to Prof Shaeer for evaluation.
Shaeer’s Corporal rotation is only suitable for downward congenital penile curvature. Corporal rotation can be performed for upward congenital penile curvature though it would require mobilization of the urethra.
Rotation of the corpora cavernosa is not recommended for cases of Peyronie’s disease, or for cases where the penis is bent to the right or to the left
In the hands of its inventor; Prof.Shaeer, Corporal Rotation for correction of penile curvature enjoys a success rate of approximately 95%.
Correction of penile curvature by rotation of the corpora cavernosa is a one day surgery. You need to stay in the hospital for a few hours and can leave the hospital same day.
